Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Basecamp to 19 Kilometer Marker
The journey begins with an easy hike to the 12-kilometer mark. After that, the trail becomes increasingly challenging, with hikers tackling the famed "Heartbreak Hill," an intensely steep incline that demands both stamina and determination. Several stream crossings along the way provide a refreshing break and an opportunity to refill water bottles. After reaching the 19-kilometer marker, the group will set up camp for the night, resting up for the push to the summit the next day.
Day 2: 19K to Victoria Peak and Return to Camp
The most strenuous day begins early, as hikers head from 19K to the summit. Along this leg, climbers will encounter a rock climbing section where they’ll need to harness up for a safe ascent. Previous climbing experience isn’t necessary—the experienced guides are there to assist. Upon reaching Victoria Peak, the reward is an unparalleled view of the vast Maya Mountain valley stretching out as far as the eye can see. At the summit, hikers can leave a message in an encased book as a testament to their accomplishment. After taking in the views and resting, hikers return to the 19K camp for a well-deserved night’s sleep.
Day 3: 19K to Basecamp
On the final day, the group will break camp early and begin the trek back to basecamp. The descent is challenging but rewarding as hikers retrace their steps through the rugged landscape. Upon arrival at basecamp, participants can celebrate the completion of an incredible journey through Belize’s most breathtaking and rugged terrain.
