What to Expect
Hiking: You’ll embark on a 45-minute hike through the lush Belizean rainforest to reach the cave entrance. The trail involves some uneven terrain, river crossings (you’ll cross the Roaring River three times with the water at knee height), and moderate uphill sections.
Cave Exploration: Once inside the cave, you’ll wade through shallow water, climb over rocks, and navigate through narrow passages. The cave floor can be slippery, so sturdy footwear is essential.
Swimming: At certain points, you’ll need to swim short distances (usually no more than waist-deep) to explore deeper chambers. Basic swimming skills are helpful but not mandatory.
Climbing and Crawling: As you delve deeper into the cave, you’ll encounter formations like stalactites and stalagmites. Some areas require climbing or crawling through tight spaces.
Guided Experience: Your licensed cave guide will provide instructions, ensure your safety, and share fascinating insights about the cave’s history and significance.

What to Bring:

Small waterproof Backpack: Ensure your backpack is waterproof, as you may get completely wet during the tour.
Change of Clothes and Towel: Bring a change of clothes and a towel, as participants will get wet.
